Monterey, CA — Two people were killed early this morning when their pickup truck was hit by an Amtrak train at a railroad crossing near Elkhorn Slough, South of San Francisco. The couple, from Fresno, CA, were found dead at the scene.
The passenger train was traveling southbound en route to Los Angeles. There were no crossing gates at the intersection of the road and tracks. None of the passengers on the train were injured, reported The Montgomery County Herald.
