Milwaukee, WI — An 11 year-old Wisconsin boy run over by a train lost his foot and part of his leg. The train did not stop after the accident, but continued down the railroad tracks. Milwaukee police say the train’s engineer had not been aware of the pedestrian/train accident and the boy’s tragic injury.

Before the accident, the injured boy was playing on the railroad tracks with a friend. The children saw a slow-moving train approach and the boy jumped onto a boxcar. When he tried to jump off the train, he slipped and lost his balance. He fell to the tracks and his right leg was run over by the train. The boy lost his foot and part of his lower leg in the accident.

A woman who rushed to the scene after the accident on the railroad tracks described the horror she witnessed:

“The little girl say, ‘Help me! Help me!’ ” said the woman.
“The little boy said, ‘Help me, help me!’
His foot was in his hand. He said, ‘What happened to my foot?'”
