Mechanicsville, IA — An elderly couple was killed in a railroad crossing accident in Iowa when the truck in which they were traveling was hit by a train. They were stopped on the railroad tracks in their Pontiac Torrent SUV and hit by an eastbound Union Pacific train.
The crash occurred at about 2:45 A.M. near Mechanicsville, IA. The 82 year-old man and 76 year-old woman in the truck were found dead at the scene.
